Softbar RFKM – Rotary Forming Confectionery Machine

The RFKM Softbar is a rotary drum forming machine designed for shaping plastic and semi-plastic mixtures into flat-bottom confectionery products. The mixture is fed into the hopper either manually or automatically, for example via a conveyor or tipping lifter.

The machine handles a wide range of formulations: marzipan, date paste, apricot and prune mixtures, hematogen, protein and coconut blends, fruit-and-nut compositions, and other formable compounds with similar characteristics.

Recipe flexibility is supported — the only essential requirements for the mixture are stickiness and uniform consistency.

The RFKM Softbar is simple to operate, easy to maintain, and ensures consistent, repeatable forming performance.

  • The prepared mixture is loaded into the hopper manually or automatically using a transport system. Special feed rollers inside the hopper push the mixture into the cells of the forming drum. These cells are custom-manufactured according to the customer’s required product shape and dimensions.
  • Due to its precise mechanical design, the RFKM Softbar forms products without trimmings and without material waste. Adjustable speeds for both the feed rollers and the forming drum allow fine-tuning for each recipe, enabling a wide assortment of fruit-based and plastic confectionery mixtures to be processed on the same unit.
  • After forming, the shaped pieces move along the conveyor and pass through the cut-off unit, which gently releases them from the belt and transfers them to the next stage of the production line.

Basic configuration

  • Frame
  • Forming drum made of special food-grade plastic that prevents product sticking
  • Hopper
  • Pressure rollers
  • Control panel with recipe storage
  • Forming drum spraying unit
  • Electrical control cabinet

Options

  • Forming drum spraying unit. Required for most types of product with low fat content. The unit configuration (number of nozzles and tank volume) depends on the machine capacity.
  • Hopper heating. Maintains the set temperature of products that change their properties and structure when cooled during operation or downtime, for example fruit pastille. Available for machines with capacity above 400 kg/h.
  • Corrugated or helical pressure rollers. Corrugated rollers improve the grip of “slippery” products, for example prune mass; helical rollers ensure better distribution of the product across the full width of the forming drum.
  • Enlarged feeding hopper. For machines with dividing rollers and capacity above 400 kg/h.
  • Rounding machine for spherical products. To obtain candies of spherical shape, the RFKM forming machine must produce dome-shaped pieces. Immediately after the cut-off unit, the products enter the rounding machine where, due to the rotation of the rotor, the candy is deformed and acquires the required diameter.
  • Sprinkling module. The product can be additionally sprinkled from above, for example with crushed nuts or coconut flakes. For this purpose, after the rounding machine a conveyor with a vibratory sprinkling unit can be installed.
