TAURAS-FENIX Evaluates the Equipment Operation at Samara Bakery Plant

On April 26, 2019 the Russian Bakers Union Congress was held in Samara with the participation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and relevant ministries of Samara Region. 25 bakery manufacturers and machine builders from all over the country gathered to assess the possibilities of modern equipment, having visited Samara Bakery Plant No. 5. There the first Russian home-produced fully automated baton line was installed.

In the last year November Samara Bakery Plant No. 5 OJSC (part of Karavai Group of Companies, St. Petersburg) completed the first stage of modernisation and commissioned a new home-produced baton line worth 90 million roubles. All equipment is made in Russia. The line includes the equipment of such manufacturers as Shebekinsky machinery works JSC (Belgorod Region), Voskhod Research and Production Enterprise CJSC (Saratov Region), SEMZ machinery works LLC (Sverdlovsk Region), Technopul-R LLC (Moscow Region) and Tauras-Fenix JSC (St. Petersburg). During the in-field tour the participants evaluated the high quality of bakery products produced on the new line.

Following the Congress results the participants decided to prepare an extended appeal to the Government of the Russian Federation addressed to Dmitry Medvedev with specific proposals on preferential programs for the production and sale of Russian machinery and equipment necessary for furnishing bakery and food industries.

Director of the Department of Agricultural, Food and Road Machine Building of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Ye. A. Korchevoy:

“Today we saw a modern and innovative bakery enterprise with excellent product quality. It was Samara Bakery Plant No. 5 that first-ever in the country commissioned a fully automated line of Russian production. This example shows that the products of domestic machine builders are not inferior to foreign analogues in quality and performance, while being more profitable in price. As for the Decree No. 547, I believe that our machine builders were able to increase the export potential, every year more and more Russian machines are being sold. We will continue to support Russian manufacturers of equipment for the food processing industry; this year we plan to allocate 2 billion roubles for these purposes. Only the forms of support will change, and I think that these changes will be positive. But we are ready to listen to all interested parties’ proposals”.

S. Е. Danilina, Director General of TAURAS-FENIX JSC (St. Petersburg):

“Speaking of changes to the Government Decree No.547, it is worth remembering that this form of support enabled enterprises to modernise their facilities and furnish manufacturing sites with modern domestic equipment. Thanks to subsidies we were able to increase deliveries under the import substitution program and help to include small and medium-sized enterprises in this national project. The State program is important for all participants of the food and processing industry: both for us, the producers, and for our customers!”
