Gatchina Galaktika Dairy Plant Launches a New Line Produced by TAURAS-FENIX

Galaktika, the largest dairy production plant in the Leningrad Region, commissions a new filling and packaging line manufactured by TAURAS-FENIX, the Petersburg machinery works.

The new equipment will significantly increase the dairy products output at the plant manufactured under its own brands Galaktika LLC and under the Finnish brand Valio. It should be noted that products manufacturing under the Valio brand at the Galaktika facilities began ten years ago and today Valio is a strategic partner of the Dairy Plant.

The high-speed filling line manufactured by TAURAS-FENIX makes possible to pack product in 12 thousand caps per hour. In other words, the line will be able to produce more than 2 tons of finished products per hour. The supplied set of equipment implies a complete cycle of product release. Packaging of liquid and pasty dairy products is carried out in ready-made polymer containers with further lid-sealing, capping and packing into preformed cardboard container (tray) for further product group packaging and its transportation.

The product line under Galaktika’s own brands is planned to be expanded with high-protein yogurts with flavour combinations that are not yet on the market; desserts with large pieces of fruit and berries; multilayer products; healthy breakfasts based on dairy yogurt with granola.

Thanks to the technologically advanced equipment with a high level of hygiene and the requirements for quality standards it will be possible to start at the Galaktika Plant the production of yoghurt intended for kindergartens and schools. The Valio product line will be also replenished with new yogurts and sour cream. The new production line commissioning will make it possible to increase in 2019 the total output of pasty desserts and yoghurts at the plant by 2.5 times. New line launching will ensure the creation of 20 additional jobs.

The solemn ceremony was attended by the Leningrad Region Government officials, Gatchina District leadership, Finnish concern Valio representatives, as well as Svetlana Danilina, TAURAS-FENIX Director General, and Sergey Chesnov, Head of the Dairy Equipment Sales Department. The machinery works’ Director congratulated Galaktika leadership on the successful launch of the new joint project with the Valio brand, noting in her speech that the Russian designers and suppliers of high-tech food equipment were focused on replacing imported analogues. The dependence of industries on foreign equipment for the food industry stimulates domestic engineering to increase its own products output.
